COUNSELLING

At Birmingham Says No we pride ourselves on our ability to tackle issues from the root by recognising the need for intervention.

In 2023, we took a proactive stance in addressing deep-seated anti-social issues within our community by offering complimentary counselling and talk therapy services. These services aim to confront the trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACES) that often hinder personal growth and hinder individuals from reaching their full potential.

A distinguishing feature of our organisation is our firm belief that everyone deserves access to mental health support, irrespective of their financial circumstances. By eliminating financial barriers and enabling self-referrals, we ensure that individuals who may have previously struggled to afford therapy or access support from healthcare professionals can now access the assistance they require.

Prompt access to support is paramount during times of crisis or distress. Therefore, our organisation prioritises maintaining short waiting lists for counselling sessions. We have implemented efficient systems to minimise waiting times and ensure swift access to therapy services.

Our counselling sessions are led by trained professionals specialising in trauma-informed care. They are equipped to address a wide range of issues, from bereavement to childhood trauma. Creating a safe and confidential online environment, these professionals offer individuals a space to freely express their emotions, fears, and concerns without fear of judgment.

Through the provision of free counselling and talk therapy services with minimal waiting times, our organisation aims to tackle the underlying causes of various issues while fostering mental well-being within our community. Together, we can strive towards a safer future for all individuals impacted by these challenges.

Please note:

  • Free counselling sessions are available for individuals aged 13 years and above.

  • Parental consent is required for individuals under the age of 18 years.

  • Waiting lists for individuals under the age of 13 years may be longer due to the specialised nature of counselling required.
